Accra, Ghana, July 2:<\/strong> Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted with a rousing reception by the Indian diaspora upon his arrival in Accra on Wednesday, marking the start of his five-nation tour. This visit is PM Modi\u2019s first-ever bilateral trip to Ghana and the first by any Indian Prime Minister in over three decades, making it a historic moment in India-West Africa relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chants of \u201cModi, Modi\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cBharat Mata ki Jai\u201d<\/strong> echoed outside the hotel as a large crowd of Indian expatriates gathered to welcome the Prime Minister. In heartwarming scenes, PM Modi engaged directly with the diaspora \u2014 holding a toddler, shaking hands with children, signing autographs, and interacting with supporters amid a festive atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the hotel, a more formal reception was held with a large number of Indian community members in attendance. Children welcomed the Prime Minister with a soulful rendition of \u2018Hare Rama Hare Krishna\u2019<\/strong>, adding a spiritual touch to the gathering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding to the cultural exchange, local Ghanaian artists<\/strong> performed a traditional instrumental version of the Indian patriotic anthem \u201cJai Ho,\u201d<\/strong> which PM Modi watched attentively, applauding the performers in appreciation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier in the day, PM Modi was received personally by Ghana\u2019s President John Mahama<\/strong> at the airport. The ceremonial welcome included a Guard of Honour<\/strong>, 21-gun salute<\/strong>, and traditional reception \u2014 reflecting Ghana\u2019s deep respect and the growing strategic partnership between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
