Sabroom, June 20:<\/strong> Development is not limited to infrastructure alone \u2014 true development also requires the progress of human resources. This was the message delivered by Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha while inaugurating 19 development projects worth \u20b932 crore in South Tripura district today. The virtual inauguration ceremony took place at the Sabroom Town Hall, where the Chief Minister launched the projects by pressing a remote button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside infrastructure development, the state government is focusing on the enhancement of human capital, the Chief Minister stated. Also present at the event were Cooperation Minister Sukla Charan Noatia, South Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Deepak Dutta, Sabroom Municipal Council Chairperson Roma Poddar Dey, MDC Kongshung Mog, social worker Dipayan Choudhury, former MLA Shankar Roy, and District Magistrate Mohammad Sajjad P.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, CM Saha said, \u201cDevelopment work is underway across the state, and many more projects are lined up for inauguration.\u201d He reiterated the state\u2019s commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s vision of a \u201cViksit Bharat\u201d (Developed India) and emphasized that education, healthcare, communication, fire services, and government buildings are all being constructed to boost progress with transparency as the key principle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of June this year, projects worth \u20b9612 crore have already been inaugurated across the state. These include new school buildings, school renovations, office buildings, and healthcare facilities. Education has been given the highest priority, followed by special attention to the welfare of indigenous communities. Around \u20b91,400 crore is being spent on tribal development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister highlighted the following achievements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Establishment of 9 super-specialty medical departments. Increasing inflow of out-of-state doctors to Tripura. Creation of 19,000 government jobs through transparent processes, along with 5,000 jobs in other sectors. Formation of 56,000 Self-Help Groups, with special focus on women empowerment through schemes like \u2018Lakhpati Didi\u2019 and \u2018Drone Didi\u2019. Promotion of pineapple cultivation, rubber plantations, fisheries, animal husbandry, and tourism to enhance employment opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New projects are also underway, including the construction of hospitals, a fisheries college, the Dhammadeepa International Buddhist University, nursing and paramedical colleges, an open university, and technical institutions. The law and order situation in the state has also seen significant improvement, he noted, adding that the public now trusts the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cooperation Minister Sukla Charan Noatia praised the CM\u2019s focused efforts for the development of South Tripura and thanked him for launching several socio-economic projects in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated a newly built 100-bed girls\u2019 hostel at Sabroom Higher Secondary Girls\u2019 School. During the ceremony, he handed over Ayushman Bharat cards to two citizens and distributed voter ID cards to two newly enrolled voters.
