During a thorough search of the vehicle, a large quantity of narcotics was discovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">The massive consignment of Yaba tablets\u201480,000 in total\u2014was packed in eight large packets. Senior officials, including District Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, DCM Korjoram Reang, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Zerin Puiya, were present during the seizure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">The arrested individual has been identified as 24-year-old Sanjay Sahani, son of Sudhan Sahani, a resident of Ward No. 4 of East Phulbari Panchayat near the Churaibari Railway Godown. According to police sources, Sahani had been involved in drug trafficking for a long time but had previously evaded arrest due to lack of concrete evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">With this seizure, local authorities have breathed a sigh of relief. An NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) case has been registered against Sahani, and further investigation is underway. The police believe that a larger network of drug mafias is involved and that further leads are expected soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai emphasized that the Churaibari Police and the North Tripura administration remain highly vigilant in support of the Chief Minister\u2019s anti-drug campaign.
