Agartala, June 7, 2025: <\/strong>The Government of Tripura is committed to ensuring quality healthcare services for its citizens, with a focus on improving both medical infrastructure and services at AGMC, GBP Hospital, and other health institutions across the state. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha emphasized this during a meeting with a visiting delegation of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, held at the conference hall of the Tripura Institution for Transformation, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AIIMS team was led by its Director, Prof. (Dr.) M. Srinivas, and included Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, Dr. Laxmitej Undavalli, and Dr. Aruna Kumari. During the discussion, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of telemedicine in modern healthcare and reiterated the government\u2019s intent to promote tele-education and tele-consultation services in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister also sought AIIMS\u2019 expertise and assistance in further enhancing medical services and infrastructure at AGMC and GBP Hospital. He specifically urged Director Prof. (Dr.) M. Srinivas to extend support in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tripura Health Secretary Kiran Gitte detailed the steps taken by the state government to strengthen healthcare facilities and services. The meeting also included a review of the current status of various projects underway in AGMC and GBP Hospital, along with discussions on patient care and medical education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AIIMS Director Prof. (Dr.) M. Srinivas assured the state of AIIMS\u2019 support and shared his institution\u2019s vision to assist in developing super-specialty services, establishing paperless hospitals through IT integration, enhancing hospital administration, and upgrading emergency care facilities. He also emphasized the need for training programs for healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Present at the meeting were MLA Meena Rani Sarkar, Chairperson of the Patient Welfare Committee of AGMC and GBP Hospital; Chief Minister\u2019s OSD Paramananda Sarkar Banerjee; Director of Health Services Dr. Tapan Majumdar; GBP Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Shankar Chakraborty; Principal of AGMC Prof. (Dr.) Anup Saha; former Director of Health Services Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Debbarma; along with doctors and administrative officials from various departments of AGMC and GBP Hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
