Inspired by these teachings, the state government continues to work for the welfare of the people, said Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today while inaugurating the Vaishakhi Buddha Purnima festival at Benuban Buddha Vihar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chief Minister said that Buddha Purnima is no longer confined to just followers of Buddhism it holds significance for peace-loving people around the world. Only then can the true essence of Buddha\u2019s path be realized,\u201d he said. He further added that India has always believed in the path of peace and non-violence, but will respond firmly if any threat is posed to the nation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on development, the Chief Minister said that the current state government has undertaken various initiatives to develop religious tourism centers, which are also playing a key role in promoting Tripura\u2019s tourism sector. The event began with the Chief Minister offering prayers to Lord Buddha. On the occasion of Vaishakhi Buddha Purnima, a sit-and-draw competition was organized for children, and the winners were felicitated with prizes by the Chief Minister. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other dignitaries present at the event included Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, Swami Shubhakarananda Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Viveknagar, Venerable Dhamma Loka, Director of Maha Bodhi All Tripura Branch, Venerable Dr. Dhammapia, Chancellor of Dhamma Dipa International Buddhist University, and the Chief Abbot of Benuban Buddha Vihar, Venerable Khyamachhara, among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tripura, 12 May 2025: Lord Gautama Buddha spread the message of non-violence, love, compassion, and peace across the world.
