Tripura, 14 April 2025:<\/strong> The current state government is working in accordance with the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, said Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha while speaking as the Chief Guest at the 135th birth anniversary celebration of Dr. Ambedkar, held this morning at the State Museum premises of Ujjayanta Palace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Highlighting Ambedkar\u2019s role as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, the Chief Minister said that his values continue to inspire people, especially the marginalized sections of society. \u201cDr. Ambedkar was a scholar, philosopher, economist, social reformer, and freedom fighter. His fight against hatred and discrimination, despite growing up in adverse conditions, is a guiding light for all,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Saha emphasized that simply celebrating Ambedkar\u2019s birthday is not enough. \u201cStudents must grow up following the path he showed us,\u201d he added. The CM further mentioned that the government has undertaken various initiatives for the welfare of underprivileged communities. As part of the \u2018Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav\u2019 celebrations in 2023, a full-sized statue of Dr. Ambedkar was installed in front of the State Assembly building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He also cited the scholarships being provided to SC students including pre-matric and post-matric grants to ensure they receive a quality education. Scheduled Castes Welfare Minister Sudhanshu Das, speaking as Special Guest, said that Dr. Ambedkar envisioned a new India free of untouchability, hatred, and inequality. \u201cHe gifted the world\u2019s largest Constitution to ensure justice and equality for all,\u201d he said, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been taking initiatives to fulfill Ambedkar\u2019s vision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He highlighted the appointments of Ram Nath Kovind and Droupadi Murmu as Presidents of India as significant steps in empowering marginalized communities. The welcome address was delivered by Secretary of the SC Welfare Department, Deepa D. Nair.
