This budget aims to play a key role in building a developed Tripura in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s vision of a developed India by 2047. Various plans have been included for the welfare of women, youth, differently-abled persons, employees, pensioners, farmers, SCs, OBCs, and Indigenous communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha expressed this during the general discussion on the budget presented by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on March 21 in the Assembly. He congratulated the Finance Minister and his team for preparing this welfare-oriented budget. The Chief Minister also praised the Union Budget and said it will contribute significantly to making India the third-largest economy by 2030. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized that the state budget focuses on education, health, infrastructure development, social programs, and agricultural advancement, ensuring a balance between income and expenditure. The budget has increased by \u20b94,618.77 crore compared to last year, marking a 103.21% rise compared to 2017-18 and a 12.89% increase from 2024-25. The Chief Minister highlighted the government\u2019s commitment to Indigenous welfare, with \u20b97,149 crore allocated to various schemes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Improved national highways have benefited Indigenous areas, enhancing connectivity and reducing insurgency. Funds have been allocated for organizing workshops to preserve traditional musical instruments. A \u201cSuper 100 Program\u201d will be introduced under the Chief Minister\u2019s Tribal Development Mission to help talented Indigenous students prepare for national-level exams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, over 6 lakh families have been provided with drinking water connections. In the PM-Kisan scheme, 2,77,970 farmers have received \u20b9842.62 crore in their accounts. More than 12,000 beneficiaries have registered under the PM Solar Rooftop Scheme, and solar panels have been installed in 162 homes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To empower women, each district now has a women\u2019s police station. Bicycles are being provided to girl students in Class IX, and scooters are being distributed to meritorious college students. Four panchayats have been transformed into women-led panchayats. Over 53,000 self-help groups (SHGs) have been formed under TRLM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new scheme, \u201cMukhya Mantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana,\u201d proposes financial assistance of \u20b950,000 per girl child. The \u201cMukhya Mantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana\u201d will provide \u20b950,000 to Antyodaya families for their newborn daughters, which can be withdrawn when the child turns 18. A proposal has also been made to establish \u201cBharatmata Canteens\u201d and night shelters in Agartala for traveler\u2019s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chief Minister announced a new scheme, \u201cChief Minister\u2019s Scheme for Mentally Challenged Persons,\u201d offering \u20b95,000 per month to differently-abled individuals. A recreation center will also be established in Agartala. The health sector is being prioritized, with initiatives like organ transplants at AGMC and GBP Hospital, including kidney transplants. Super-specialty facilities are being expanded, and trauma centers are being set up in every district to reduce the burden on referral hospitals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ease traffic congestion, two flyovers will be constructed: a 2.17 km flyover from Radhanagar to IGM Hospital in Agartala and a 1.60 km flyover from Jagannath Chowmuhani to Khilpara in Udaipur. Animal husbandry is crucial for rural economic development. To support livestock health, 55 new mini mobile veterinary units will be launched. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new dairy project will be established in Bamunthui under the Gomati Co-operative Milk Producers Union. To enhance higher education, new degree colleges will be set up in Ambassa, Kakraban, and Karbook. Coaching centers for competitive exams will be opened in Agartala, Udaipur, and Ambassa. Each sub-division will have coaching centers for science and English for students in Classes XI and XII, with three centers in Sadar Subdivision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A computer-based exam center will be established at Hapania International Fair Ground. Synthetic football turf will be installed in Gandatwisa and Kakraban. A 200-bed sports hostel will be constructed at Dasarath Deb Sports Complex. The budget has allocated \u20b95 crore for development in minority-dominated villages and \u20b91.20 crore for preserving Waqf properties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, \u20b920 crore has been allocated for improving infrastructure in blocks with minority populations under the Prime Minister\u2019s Jan Vikas Karyakram. Law and order in the state have improved. New buildings will be constructed for police stations in West Agartala, East Agartala, Belonia, Baikhora, Bagbassa, and Madhupur, along with new buildings for fire stations in various sub-divisions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Youth Parliament competitions were introduced to encourage youth participation in politics. The Chief Minister highlighted that Tripura ranks second in the Northeast in terms of GSDP and stands next to Sikkim in per capita income.
